E-Sharp workshop — engineering for reliability and less waste

Sustainability

Sustainability, built into how we engineer

For us, sustainability isn’t a side page — it starts in the work. The test and quality systems we build help products fail less and last longer, which is the quietest and most effective way we cut waste. Around that, we run our own operations responsibly and hold ISO 9001 and 14001.

Where we make the biggest difference

The most sustainable product is one that doesn’t fail early

Most of our environmental impact isn’t in our own footprint — it’s in the products we help bring to market. Better test and verification means fewer field failures, fewer returns, and hardware that lasts longer. That directly reduces electronic waste and wasteful consumption, at a scale far bigger than our own operations.

We design our own products the same way: for quality and testability, using standardized components to avoid overproduction and the risk of obsolete inventory. Reliability isn’t only good engineering — it’s the most honest form of sustainability we can offer.

How we think about it

Three pillars

Environmental

Reduce impact where it counts — through the reliability of what we help build, and through energy-efficient, low-waste operations of our own.

Social

Fair wages and safe conditions, support for local suppliers, and a workplace where people are looked after and can develop.

Continuous improvement

Measured, not declared. ISO-backed management systems that keep us improving how we use resources — and honest about where we still have work to do.

In our own operations

What that looks like day to day

The practical measures in and around our Kävlinge workshop:

  • Energy-efficient technologies across the facility
  • Recycling and composting to reduce landfill waste
  • EV charging stations for cleaner transport
  • Consolidating orders to reduce transport and emissions
  • Standardized components to avoid overproduction and obsolete stock
  • Products designed for quality, testability and long life
  • Support for local suppliers and small businesses

Certifications

ISO 14001 & ISO 9001

ISO 14001 certified — environmental management ISO 9001 certified — quality management

ISO 14001 holds us to internationally recognized standards for reducing environmental impact — from energy use to waste and responsible sourcing. ISO 9001 does the same for quality: robust management systems across design, testing and support.

For us the two belong together. Better quality means fewer failures, and fewer failures mean less waste — which is why our quality system is also part of our environmental story.

Looking ahead

Where we’re going

We treat sustainability as a long-term investment, not a finished checklist. The direction we’re working in:

  • Solar panels on our building — a decided investment, installed during autumn 2026
  • Further reducing our carbon footprint and material waste
  • More transparency and reporting on our progress
  • Helping customers build hardware that lasts even longer
